Spring Break Series: Episode 2

Published on March 26, 2018

If you are a frequent reader or follower of the Cassels Garage blog, then you know that in our last blog we began our Spring Break Series. We thought it might be helpful for our readers to have a blog series dedicated to spring break and making sure that both you and your car are prepared to make whatever journey you have planned this March. This is Episode 2 of our Spring Break Series and we are excited to continue on this adventure. This week, we want to give our readers and the people of Brevard County a few ideas on ways to keep their brains alive and thriving after hours stuck in their vehicle. It can be easy to get bored or tired while being packed in a moving vehicle for an extended period of time. So, we have compiled a pretty rad list of activities or ideas of things for you to prepare to keep yourself awake and alert during your spring break trip.

Now, the first thing we would suggest would be to make sure you have a killer playlist already put together before you hit the open roads. Not only will this ensure you can listen to all of your favorite tunes, it will also prevent you from being a distracted driver. Even if you aren’t texting someone, messing with your phone while driving just isn’t safe. So, plan it out and put your playlist together before you go so all you will have to do it plug it in (or sync it to your stereo if your car is more advanced) and go.

Next, you might find downloading an audiobook or listening to a podcast are great ways to keep your mind awake. If you aren’t an avid reader, that’s okay, the audiobook does all the work for you so you can just relax and drive. Find a genre or story that interests you and download it for the trip. Most of them are pretty long and will probably last you until the end of your journey- depending on where you are traveling. Also, there are a few places that allow you to download your first audiobook for free, so you might not even have to pay a cent for your first book. There are also some amazing podcast both on Spotify and on Apple Music. With so many amazing genres of podcasts to choose from, it’s worthwhile looking into.

Finally, try packing your own snacks and meals. This way you can have something instantly to snack on and you aren’t stuck stopping as often to get food. This will also save you some money in the long run. Go to your grocery store a day or two before and pick out all of your favorite goodies to bring with you. Save yourself some time and money.

No matter what you have planned or where you might be off to, we at Cassels Garage suggest you stop in or make an appointment with us to get your car checked out before you hit the road. This will give you that peace of mind that your vehicle is safe and reliable before you take your journey.

If you haven’t already, check out our first Spring Break Blog and stay tuned for one more episode of this series.
